John Moclair

John has vast experience of treasury and financial risk management having worked in the Corporate, Consulting and Banking Sectors.

His treasury career started in ESB ( Ireland State electricity company) where he managed the company’s exposures to currency, interest rate, commodity and inflation risk. His consulting experience in FTI Finance centered on assisting Irish and international entities on managing their financial market exposures, as well as corporate finance.

After leading BNP Paribas fixed income sales team in Dublin, he joined Bank of Ireland where he very successfully headed up BOI’s treasury customer business with teams ROI, Belfast, London and New York. As well as meeting customer needs, the role also included responsibility for all regulatory compliance and operational risk obligations, including the delivery of a number of IT programmes.

John has lectured on treasury matters and has been a regular contributor on financial markets on radio and print media.

He is a Fellow of the UK Association of Corporate Treasurers and a member of the Chartered Institute of  Management Accountants (CIMA).
